Job Title: Mechanical Engineer IV Duration: 6 Months Location: Redmond, WA
Job Description:
Provide manufacturing engineering ownership of solar power module assembly for the Project Kuiper satellite program.
Bring the new solar power module assembly line online and commission it.
Document processes, design, procure, and test tooling and shop aids.
Perform testing of equipment, gathering data to prove reliability and repeatability of systems.
Job Responsibilities:
Design space hardware production processes and production lines.
Manage equipment design, procurement, installation, and qualification.
Work with supply chain partners to manage critical vendors.
Plan material flow and define manufacturing processes.
Support space hardware testing, including tooling design and data analysis.
Optimize Assembly, Integration, and Test takt time & cost.
Conduct DFM reviews and sign off for design releases.
Required Skills:
BSc/MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or equivalent.
Proficiency in MCAD software (3D modeling and 2D drafting).
Experience in designing mechanical assemblies for electronics.
Experience with rapid prototype and production tooling.
Project management experience.
Strong communication and writing skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Siemen's Teamcenter for PLM.
NX for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
Mechanical tolerance stack-up analysis.
Experience with SAP MES and ERP systems.
Familiarity with engineering project management software (JIRA, Confluence, Agile tools).
Years of Experience: 5+ years
Top 3 Must-Have Hard Skills:
Proficiency in MCAD software for 3D modeling
Experience designing mechanical assemblies for electronics
SQL
