Job Description

Title Account Collections Coordinator
Duration: 6 months
Location: Onsite at 
14700 Caribbean Way, Miramar, FL 33027
Our normal business hours are 9 am - 6 pm M-F. All candidates must be available to work those hours. Some weekend and overtime work may be required.

Position Summary:

The Account Collections Coordinator is responsible for managing credit card disputes and chargebacks, handling approximately $5 million per coordinator annually and $40 million company-wide. The role involves performing collection efforts on receivables from unpaid cruise reservations and onboard folios.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Retrieve daily credit card activity related to disputes and chargebacks.Compile supporting documentation for each dispute/chargeback case using AS400 reservations system applications, electronic and paper shipboard records, and other automated third-party software.
  • Respond to credit card companies, travel agents, and passengers both in writing and orally within designated deadlines.
  • Maintain organized case files for future reference, follow-up, and support
  • Pursue collections with travel agents and passengers for receivables related to cruise reservations and onboard folio charges arising from returned checks, credit card chargeback disputes, travel agent commissions, and other unpaid balances.
    Work closely with front-line agents and various departments (e.g., Reservations, Groups, Customer Service, Sales Administration, Casino, Human Resources, and Shipboard Administration) to support collection efforts for unpaid balances.
    Collaborate with outside collection agencies and the internal Legal Department to pursue the collection of unpaid balances.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and processes as requested by management.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Two to four years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in an AS400 environment and familiarity with JD Edwards or similar accounting systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Knowlege and skills:

  • Ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
  • Capacity to function effectively in a high-volume environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient communication skills with various departments concerning voyage verification and validation-related issues.
  • Knowledge of the cruise industry.
